What are the main benefits of infrared therapy?

Infrared heat stimulates blood circulation, supports the recovery of muscles and joints, and helps to relieve pain and stiffness. With regular use, it may also contribute to a reduced risk of cardiovascular disease, lower stress levels and improved sleep quality.

The health benefits of infrared therapy are closely linked to the duration of each session. These processes are only activated when the body is given sufficient time to warm up and the core body temperature increases by around 0.5 to 1°C.

Short- and mid-wave infrared mainly heat the surface of the skin. As heat intensity rises quickly, this can become uncomfortable, limiting sessions to around 10 to 15 minutes. This is typically too short to significantly increase core body temperature. Long-wave infrared (above approximately 5000 nanometres), on the other hand, feels gentle and comfortable while still providing enough energy to warm the body from within. This allows the core temperature to rise in a controlled way, which is essential for activating therapeutic effects.

Health Mate infrared saunas use unique Tecoloy technology, producing long-wave infrared radiation at around 6000 nanometres. This gentle and even build-up of heat enables longer, more comfortable sessions, allowing the body to fully benefit from infrared therapy.
