How does a Health Mate infrared sauna work?

A Health Mate infrared sauna warms the body from within using long-wave infrared radiation (around 6000 nanometres). Unlike a traditional sauna or infrared saunas with full-spectrum or carbon heaters, which mainly heat the air and then the skin, this type of heat penetrates deeper into muscles and tissues.

The long-wave infrared rays are absorbed by water molecules in and beneath the skin. This causes blood vessels to dilate and improves circulation. At the same time, the water in the bloodstream is gently warmed without overheating the skin, allowing heat to be distributed deep within the body in a comfortable way.

After approximately 20–30 minutes at 50–55°C, core body temperature can rise by around 0.5 to 0.7°C. This resembles a mild fever response, supporting the immune system and activating natural recovery processes. After 35–45 minutes at 50–60°C, core temperature may increase by around 1 to 1.5°C, stimulating the body in a way comparable to mild cardiovascular activity, but without physical strain.
